San Joaquin and Sacramento Counties, California
EPS has been retained by the Delta Protection Commission as part of a multidisciplinary team to create an Economic Sustainability Plan for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The Plan considers the future of the Delta with in-depth examination of the demographic and economic trends within this unique region of Northern California. The study focuses heavily on agriculture and recreation, the two primary drivers of the Delta economy. In addition, the study evaluates land use planning opportunities and constraints in the historic “legacy” communities of the Delta. The study will inform policies to protect and enhance the Delta economy for future generations, responding to increasing economic and environmental stress as well as the implications of several proposed water conveyance infrastructure projects.
