Darin Smith joined EPS in 2000. Darin has diverse experience encompassing the firm’s full breadth of projects and practice areas, but is a firm leader in our work on affordable housing policy and programs, transit-related real estate, and the solicitation and negotiation of public/private partnerships. Darin also has led several asset management studies to identify and prioritize development opportunities for public sector landowners’ real estate portfolios. In addition, Darin has led several EPS studies of regional development projections, opportunities and constraints to assist in planning for transit and highway infrastructure, preservation of land supplies for economic development and housing needs, and policies for long-term regional growth with a sustainable environmental footprint.

Darin has a Master’s Degree in City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania, where he also received his undergraduate degree. Prior to joining EPS, Darin was a consultant at ZHA, Inc. (now W-ZHA, LLC) in Annapolis, MD, and a retail location specialist for Pep Boys at their corporate headquarters in Philadelphia. He has accepted speaking engagements for events and conferences presented by Lambda Alpha, the American Planning Association, Rail~Volution, Urban Land Institute, and the Center for Health Design.
